Identify Where You Are and Where You’d Like to Be,
Overcome the Problems that Are Holding You Back,
and Create the Relationships and Life You Desire!

Optimism, assertiveness, self-confidence, and relationship success can be achieved. As can making the most of change – whether you’ve planned the changes or not.

If you’d like to better understand your current situation and the choices available to you and resolve the specific problems that are keeping you from creating the life you desire, counseling and psychotherapy can help.

Sometimes we’re just not satisfied with the way things are going in our lives. We may find ourselves not getting along with the people we want to be closest to, or we may find ourselves feeling stuck in unwelcome behavior patterns that seem to keep coming up in our lives.

It is not uncommon to reach a point in our lives where the things we thought would bring satisfaction and happiness have lost their meaning for us. If any of these describe how you’re feeling, it’s important to know you’re anything but alone.

Welcome! My name is Felita Fox, and I appreciate you taking the time to visit the Website for my private counseling and psychotherapy practice in Sunnyvale, California.

As you’ve come to my Website, you may be searching for a lessening of fear, a greater ability to understand and control your emotions, an ability to laugh off criticism more easily, or just some peace of mind.

You may also want to examine perfectionist tendencies, major life transitions (such as a new career, relocation, or aging parents), acculturation issues, troublesome aspects of your life, or your relationships with family members, partners, friends, and co-workers. Whatever it is you’re facing, there are good reasons to find a therapist you feel comfortable with.

Professional Counseling Can Help

A professional therapist can help you find and create custom-tailored solutions to whatever is holding you back from living the life you’d like. Psychotherapy and counseling can help you discover resources and figure out “win-win” answers to problems you may not be able to resolve by yourself.

Research, and positive change in the lives of countless people, has shown how helpful psychotherapy can be. That’s something in which I believe without any reservation, and which overwhelming evidence supports.

Of course, it is important to know that the process of change can be a difficult one. I congratulate you for taking the brave step of seeking help. The next step is to find a professional to work with that’s right for you.

How Does One Find The “Right” Mental Health Professional?

One of the most – if not the most – important contributors to successful therapy is the relationship and trust that is built between the therapist and client.

When you’re looking for a therapist, there is much more to consider than just education, experience, and training. While these are all important considerations, it is more important for you to find a therapist that feels like a good fit for both your unique personality and needs.

Do some homework, ask other health professionals (such as your doctor) for referrals, speak with several therapists, and schedule a few initial appointments. You want to make sure your therapist:

  • Treats you with honesty, compassion, and empathy
  • Recognizes that not all theories of human behavior fit all humans
  • Is sensitive to, and respectful of, a wide range of belief systems and cultures
  • Is aware of their own limitations as to what types of problems they are able to treat effectively
  • Is focused on providing counseling solutions for the problems you’re looking to resolve

There are times in all of our lives when we need someone to help us by being supportive, by respecting our decisions, by listening to our pain, by providing a fresh perspective to sort through our confusion, and to challenge us to be our best while reserving judgment about our situation and goals.

How I Can Help

I provide acceptance and understanding in a respectful, supportive, and confidential environment, while helping clients to develop the tools and techniques enabling them to design and live the life they want to create.

I work primarily with individual adults and couples. My clients come to therapy from a wide range of backgrounds and for equally diverse reasons. However, this does not mean I am qualified to treat anyone for any issue. Among several specialties, my practice primarily focuses on individual work with adult men, women, and couples.

I provide psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals and couples who are:

  • Experiencing relationship issues (affairs, lack of communication, and family transitions)
  • Struggling with multi-cultural acculturation issues (at home and in their place of work)
  • Challenged by work-related issues
  • Going through difficult life transitions (such as a new relationship or career)
  • Searching for more fulfillment in their professional lives
  • Troubled by interfaith or interracial family issues
  • Looking to overcome stress, perfectionist tendencies, and self-esteem issues that are preventing them from creating the success they’re trying to achieve

My prior experiences in human resources and journalism help me make people feel quickly at ease and respected, and my successful career as a minority businesswoman in the technology industry informs my work and allows me to meet the demands of high-tech workers in Silicon Valley who are looking to find balance and meaning in their professional and personal lives.

I am happily married in an interracial, interfaith marriage, and I understand the adjustments necessary to create successful relationships with people from different worlds while honoring your own cultural heritage and traditions.

You Can Be Your Own Success Story

I have successfully created an unorthodox existence that’s far from the “normal” American mold and have had many unique experiences and successes as a minority businesswoman married to a Jewish man who relocated from Texas with no friends or family to build a successful professional and personal life in the fast-paced Silicon Valley area. I love the life I’ve created and the work I do, and so can you!

I believe that all the answers and resources we need to succeed lie within each one of us. However, when we become frustrated or afraid our ability to tap into those resource becomes impaired. My role as a professional therapist is to help connect you with the internal resources and guidance you have available, let go of behavior patterns that are no longer serving your needs, create effective strategies to move your relationships and life forward in the right direction, and work with you to achieve the results you want.

While I’m not able to create the situations in your life you desire, you can! If you are looking to create or manage change in your life but are tired of waiting for it to happen – or don’t want to wait at all – psychotherapy can be a very powerful tool… Not only for coping with the changes life presents us, but also for creating the changes in our lives we want!

We all have a unique story to tell… Learn how to make yours one of success! Please don’t hesitate to contact me today or call 408-475-1789 for more information or to schedule a free consultation. I look forward to speaking with you.
